Complaint
Water is leaking from the bottom, the unit doesn't pressurize or shows error codes.

Important
Immediately turn off the appliance and unplug it. Do not continue to use the device. This reduces the risk of short circuits and further damage.

Likely causes

  1. Liquid poured into the cooking base without the inner pot. Water flows past the heating element through the bottom and may reach the electronics. Manufacturer instruction: never pour liquid or food directly into the base without the inner pot.

  2. Forgotten or incorrectly placed silicone sealing ring. Steam escapes around the lid instead of through the valve, condenses and runs out through the edges and openings, including the bottom. Check and replace the ring if worn—recommended every 12 to 18 months.

  3. Spillage on the heating element or inside the base, for example during moving or filling. Moisture may take up to 72 hours to fully evaporate.

  4. Condensation. Some models have a condensation collector. If it is missing or full, moisture may run down the housing.

Diagnosis by Kenners

During inspection, we check for traces of liquid ingress and corrosion in the base and on the circuit board, the condition and placement of the sealing ring, and moisture traces around the condensation outlet. This allows us to determine whether the damage was caused by user error.

Warranty and costs

Damage caused by improper use or use contrary to the manual—such as pouring liquid into the base or using the device without the sealing ring—is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. This is explicitly stated in Instant Brands’ warranty conditions: user errors and misuse are excluded.
If we determine during repair that the issue was caused by user error, all shipping costs, inspection fees, and potential repair costs will be charged to the customer.

What you can do yourself (only when water is on or in the base)

  • Unplug the unit and let the base air dry upside down for up to 72 hours. Do not turn it back on until a successful water test has been completed. Do not proceed if oil or fat has entered—stop using the device.

  • Check whether the sealing ring is clean, undamaged, and correctly placed. Replace it if worn or deformed.

  • Empty and properly place the condensation collector if your model has one.
