Is the filter light still blinking after replacing your AP100 filter? A quick manual reset solves this in seconds.
The Instant Air Purifier AP100 uses a timer-based filter replacement indicator, not a sensor that detects actual filter condition. This means the red/orange blinking light at the filter icon will not turn off automatically after installing a new filter. A manual reset is required every time a filter is replaced.
If you skip this reset step, the light will continue to blink indefinitely, even with a brand new filter correctly installed. This is normal behavior and does not indicate a defect with the unit or the filter.
Important distinction: The AP100 has two separate indicator lights that can appear red:
- Filter icon light , signals that the filter replacement timer has elapsed. Requires a manual reset.
- Air quality indicator light , signals poor air quality in the room. This is not related to the filter and will resolve on its own as air quality improves.
What to Do
Step 1: Reset the filter indicator
- Make sure the unit is turned ON
- Press and hold the "FILTER" button for approximately 3 seconds
- The blinking light should turn off, confirming the reset was successful
This reset is required after every filter replacement.
Step 2: If the light continues to blink after reset, check the following
- Remove the filter and confirm all plastic packaging or wrapping has been removed
- Reinstall the filter and ensure it is fully and correctly seated
- Make sure the base/cover is completely closed
- Unplug the unit for 1 full minute, then plug it back in and repeat the reset procedure
A blinking filter light after replacing the filter on the AP100 is almost always resolved by performing a manual reset, which is a required step after every filter change. If the light continues to blink after completing all steps above, please contact an authorized service center for further assistance.
